After burning the midnight oil last night, I finished a new piece combining painting and textiles (penny rug embroidery) with 100% wool and 100% wool felt painted and stitched on canvas. This new piece is now available on ebay. (Click on the picture to see the detail.)

As September comes closer to an end, it is time to finish up fall donations. Last night I finished a 9" bowl for the Lancaster Quilt & Textile Museum's Benefit Bingo. I am also working on another star barn benefit painting for the Pequea Library Annual Fund Raising Auction to be held in October. On September 26 & 27th, The Brethren Disaster Relief Auction will be held at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds. For this auction I donated a small dry sink titled, "Willow Tree Egg Farm". This is a great auction to attend and the monies raised help many people with disaster relief.

This week I have been busy finishing some paintings including a 2' bench of a red star barn. There are sheep in the meadow and 3 cats sitting on top of a hay wagon. The top of the bench has a nice crackled finish. The bench legs/skirt have a red undercoat and are top coated in black. I sanded and distressed the top coat to allow the red to show through. This bench will be available at Basket Accessories in Intercourse, PA (Phone 1-866-461-LIDS) on 9/17. Call them for more details--as there is only one of them. They also carry several of my other painted pieces.
